In fact, she’s still active in the NYC KKG Alumnae book club because it transitioned to Zoom during Covid, and by the time it was feasible to return to in person meetings, many of the participants had dispersed across the US, but didn’t want to give up the sisters they’d connected with and their monthly discussions, so they have continued to meet by Zoom. Mallory relocated full time to Ft. Lauderdale in 2021 where she works in litigation at Fowler White. Mallory is an avid traveler and scuba diver and volunteers with a local animal rescue group.

Marilyn Koch Gowing

Panhellenic Delegate

Marilyn pledged at the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at the College of William and Mary (W&M) in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1967. A few years ago, she proudly received her 50- year pin! Marilyn served as Secretary of her chapter while an undergraduate and, as an Alum, was happy to be an early contributor to the W&M Kappa scholarship program. Marilyn majored in psychology and later received a Masters and Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at George Washington University (GWU). She served on the National Council of Arts and Sciences at GWU and later was appointed to the President’s Advisory Committee on the 21st Century. There were only a few women in that group. One of them, Julie Mangis, came up to Marilyn and said, “Are you a Kappa?” Julie then told her that of the handful of women on the committee, four were Kappas! Julie and Marilyn have remained friends to this day. Julie was the driving force behind the Kappa history tour and the Stewart House renovation. When Marilyn served as President of the Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Association, she was pleased to facilitate the placement of a Kappa tapestry by Fleming Godden in the Stewart House, the birthplace of Kappa. Marilyn was fortunate to have a career in her academic discipline serving as the Chief Industrial/Organizational Psychologist in the Federal Government and a member of the Senior Executive Service. She later joined the private sector as a Senior Vice President at Aon. Sadly, she lost her husband to a heart attack in 1997. In 2011, she retired to Parkland, Florida. She has traveled to see most of the Wonders of the World, but now enjoys staying home and gardening and spoiling her grandnephews. She is delighted to be serving as our Panhellenic Delegate as she is a Past President of the Fort Lauderdale Alumnae Panhellenic.
